Actually he does have somewhat of a point. Most battle rounds seem to follow a pack mentality, where players run in one direction as a mob, as anyone who strays from the mass alone gets slaughtered.

Often one can also see situations where players end in a 2v2 or other such even match, yet players run away leaving you in a handicap match. Players value their personal survival over the team.

Yesterday, on the map he talked about I actually did go to attack with a few others while the rest where staying on resp. We all got killed of course. So then you have no choice really. Unless you have a lot of clan mates with you and on ts then you can communicate faster and work as a team. Is there no general ts by the way? or is it mostly that clans use their own?(Excuse my ignorance-i'm fairly new here)

There's the official discord server that has voice channels, but I believe most use clan VOIPs.

When I used to play with piotes, the motherfucker would always separate from the mob and die 1v10, and killing me in the process Since I followed him

imo both siege and battle are equally shite, siege with its archer spam, backstabbing assassins and battle with horse archers, teams camping or doing that ring around the rosie crap

 

the only reason i prefer siege is because i mostly play during happy hour and siege is more populated during that time than battle

Often a problem tends to be not the amount of archers, but the fact that players use weapons that can't protect them from said arrows, aka no shields. Even without shields, if you carry around a pack of javelins or other throwable weapons, you can at the very least make an archer attempt to protect themselves while you close the distance.

If there's a tincan walking around waving a flamberge, I don't see why I shouldn't shoot them. The guy next to him with a huscarl shield is, after all, basically immune to my arrows.

the problem here is not that said using of shields, but the amount of archers infact. Everytime im in with a shielder, i get shoot from multiple ankles and still die to them, and if it is not an archer than the cav that rushes me 3vs1 and still cant do shit against them. So staying in that said mob is the best that the inf can do not to get molested by the other 2 classes. (i counting HA as archer here in as well)

And what do you propose we do if we are already fighting with somebody and 10 archers are shooting at us? That is what we are talking about, archers are not the problem , archer spam is.

If there is in fact an archer spam, it implies that they lack infantry and hence you would outnumber their infantry in a fight and overwhelm them. In siege, once the attackers gain a foothold inside the castle or on the walls, archer spam then becomes a disadvantage because the rate at which the attackers enter the castle will then be greater than the rate of kills of the defending archers. It's a common sight to see defending archers firing down on the attackers capturing the flag and for instance, assuming the attackers have gained a foothold, by the time these archers get to kill someone, two more would come in. Ultimately, my point is that the archer spam is only useful holding bottlenecks until the attackers get into the castle en masse and when that happens, they would lack a sufficient infantry force to counter it because they have too many archers.
