Why is it stupid? You run into a wall or a spear or whatever causes you to rear, you shouldn't do that. You don't like the change because it means you now have to actually think about what you're doing?

 

I agree with the ctrl+j, it's a good trick and pretty funny if you manage to pull it off, but that alone doesn't offset the good the change does in my eyes.

 

Realistically speaking you shouldn't really be able to do much either, you're trying to regain control of the horse after smashing it against something. Though realism shouldn't probably be drawn into it too much.

Don't remove it, cav spam can be cancerous enough already at the best of times on battle, besides cav is pretty easy at least punish those who are retarded enough to run into a spear or a wall. 

 

Rey you didn't play this game when it wasn't in the game so you wouldn't know but every second player was cavalry and it was the easiest shit ever for cav, the most toxic shit for anyone else.

Yeah I do miss the Ctrl+J kills, but oh well.

 

And yeah the change was mostly made because the mod used to be littered with cav and pretty much dominated the servers, it scared off those who didn't actually want to learn how to play it or couldn't cope with it. I'd say it worked out fine looking back at how it was.

Exactly. Namakan asked why people voted for no and I thought I'd hop in to force my opinion on others.

 

With a little thought given to it, it's ultimately a good change and those who oppose it oppose it only because then they couldn't roam around without a care in the world like cavalry used to.

 

Back in the day cavalry could just rush into a group of people, snipe one of them and then bugger off without taking barely any damage, because shields are busted in this game and used to block a lot of the hits when the cavalry was rearing. Now you can usually kill the horseman if he makes such a mistake. Exactly as it should be.

If you run into the enemy team in a clanwar, odds are you're dead either way, but reverting this change makes it so that you're at least not dead every time you run into a single piker.

 

I agree that it change public play for the better(even though I'd prefer other nerfs in place of it), but it simply doesn't have a place in "competitive" play in my opinion.

There is legit no room for it in competitive play. Don't really care about public to be fair.

 

Seems funny though, because I am pretty sure that cavs would still get trashed even if that mechanic would be added back in the game.

When the mechanic wasn't there it was very hard to take down a cavalry player, even if they were fully and completely retarded. On the odd chance you managed to make them rear or they stopped their shield blocked most if not all attacks anyway. At least now if the horse rears you can land in some hits unlike back in the day.

 

So I am pretty sure you're full of shit on this regard.

 

By all means, remove it from your server. But there was a good reason it got added in the first place.

Servers are now running on WSE.

Also added a new feature for admins and normal players that I'll make a more detailed post about soon-ish. It's already enable tho, so feel free to try and figure out what I'm talking about.
