Changes made to maps might not work right now, will fix that tomorrow.

Gonna fix maps today.

Maps fixed. Also added Dreiecksdorf as a replacement for By the Rocks.

Added a poll to the thread.

I'm considering to remove the inability to perform actions(attacking, blocking) when your horse is rearing, though I'm not entirely sure yet if I could get it to work.

Would you agree to such a change? Why, why not?

 

Personally, I'd like to make this change, but I won't do it if the majority of the community dislikes it, so I'll leave the poll open for a week or so before I do anything.

Shittiest mechanic ever implemented. If horseman is stopped he is dismounted 100% and perhaps killed in most situations which is enough of a punishment. Removing a possibility to block or hit while you're stopped is just completely unnecessary imo.

Personally I agree with this, and everyone I've talked to about it seems to do so aswell.

you lot didn't play back in the day when battle was 90% cavalry because it had literally no downsides to it

I did play cavalry at the time too and I think it was a much needed change. They could run around like idiots not giving two shits about any of their surroundings, oops you ran into 75 enemies better just pull your shield up which magically blocks all incoming damage somehow.

 

If your horse gets reared you're doing it wrong and should be punished for it.

 

Do you have any arguments as to why it is in fact bad?

I play a lot of cav myself and I think the change should stay - makes it much more punishable once your horse rears, and still even now it's not a 100% guaranteed death, I disliked it a lot at first but I'm grown used to it by now and I think it adds some variety to cav gameplay, you need to be a lot more careful, you can't just shield yourself from damage on yourself once your horse rears. If you're good at cav you can still own plebs despite the odd annoying death due to getting reared and being able to do fuck all about it.

If horse gets reared, your back and your horse are vulnerable no matter if you're able to block or not. You can get fucked over either way.

 

Not being able to even stab back while you're reared or not being able to block projectiles/hits is simply stupid.

 

What variety are you talking about? The fact that you can't stab while you're reared so that you just stay there and get killed with no opportunity to hit back or block?

or the fact that you can't do the Ctrl+J stop and catch some chasing you horseman off guard and smash him down? The mechanic in my eyes removes variety rather than adds it.
