
Helping Infantry to Deal with Archers

Notice that you can choose more than one option. Even if you vote for the "do noting" option, you might like some other ideas too.
In the latter option, "infantrymen" means all classes except archers and cavalry. So, if you spend some skill points on Riding or Power Draw, you lose the free levels of the Shield skill.

Also where is my idea? I wanted to increase the weight from 2.0 to something like 10.0.
Decrease bow damage?

Because 10.0 is quite stupid to be honest. How would a bag of arrows weigh more than two flamberges...

How would a person jump 360 and shoot somebody in the head?
It is obv for balancing reasons so they can't run away while using their bow. If they need to fight they drop the bow and get their weight back to normal

You don't just throw out the entire weight system of the mod just to fix one issue, that's not how you balance stuff. Or in any case you always start with gradual changes rather and just going mental with extreme weight increases.

Not to mention they only turn 180 degrees. Besides, if they can't jump and shoot, what's the point in raising weight also? It's not like a peasant with just a pitchfork couldn't run away either, or should we increase the pitchfork weight to 20 too? Now that we start, how about fists start weighing also? Even better, let's remove running completely and everyone goes around in walking speed. Except horses, ofcourse, and horsearchers, since you play one of the latter

The archer would just run away if they are faster then you then they turn around and shoot you then they run away again and shoot you again

a peasant with a pitch fork gains little with running away. Atleast this way an archer has a reason to go into melee as it should. Crpg has this mechanic. My idea was increasing the weight to something heavy so they can't run away and this is what most people voted for. So please Homer let the community decide.
Also weight affects speed on horses aswell so don't throw the "because you are a horse archer" argument.

Actually, people mostly said that the jumping while shooting should be removed. That's the leading option right there. Guess that's what the community wants.

option 1 is increasing weight of arrows nobody is voting for it because nobody wants 2.0-3.0 but rather 2.0-10.0 make the option available so the community can choice.

Shield durability imo, sick of getting spammed to fuck by some skill-less cunt with a GLB then backpeddles leaving me with a 0.70m weapon vs. giant fucking axe-thingy.

The 1-2 free shield skill idea could be really good since you wouldnt need to invest so much skill points to using shields.

There is no way shield durability will save more than 2 hits on your shield. You're fucked unless you get better.
