Archers are too powerful for this mod! In another mod (c***) the archers can't have a heavy armors becouse are too slow and it is real... Here archers can be a perfect footmen with bow, also they are fast to shooting and too precise. It's like a fight between a medieval warrior against modern soldier (with a automatic gun).

True, a proper shield does prevent archers from even trying to shoot you, unless they are stupid/very good. First one shoot at the shield, latter past the shield.

Archers are not OP, just too many 2handed people without shield... Use javs to counter archers and stop QQ

imo though archers should not be able to use 2h/polearms. They really should be at a severe disadvantage in melee.

But I guess that's just me being pissy about small things.

Archers in Mercenaries are sheeps compared to the archers in Native as example.

I dont understand why you complain about them.

First of all, native and mercenaries are different mods. The fact that Native has absurd archers compared to Mercs for example, doesn't mean that there's nothing wrong in Mercenaries archers.

 

 

Second of all, archers pulling out spamsticks out of their ass IS just stupid, you're supposed to be an archer, not an archer/pole hybrid.

Plus, everyone can use any shield in Native, provided they are able to loot one somewhere. You can only use a shield in mercs if you have the skill to use it.

Thank you for providing logical reasoning to why there's no need to adjust archers.

Seriously, make it so that archers can only use 1h, there's no reason to why they should be able to pull out a spamstick out of their ass.

That would be a restriction to weapons and Homer doesn't like to restrict things iirc.
