  • Added items: Light Javelin, Plate Greaves.
  • Added modifications: Courser with Green Saddle, Leather Armor with Pauldrons, Scale Armor with Plate Cuisses, Aketon with Plate Cuisses.
  • Added new clan banners and 16 common banners.
  • Added maps: Derchios Castle, Sandstorm, Forest Arena.
  • Cavalrymen will receive some damage when they fall off horses.*
  • Added filtering of the player list.**
  • Now the merchant gives more information when you buy an item.
  • Removed annoying death messages at the end of siege rounds.
  • Adjusted the team balancer a bit in order to improve cooperation of clan members.***
* The damage depends on the moving speed. It isn't high at the moment but it may be adjusted in the nearest future.

** You can do it by pressing Delete+[Key] on the keyboard where [Key] is the first letter of the character name (clan tags are ignored). This feature was added for the administrators but you can also use it if you want to mute somebody.

*** Now it works in the battle mode only and it's not well tested. I also implemented a tool that will help me to analyze the work of the team balancer, so it may be adjusted in the nearest future.

Derchios Castle is a night siege map. You can find a chest with flaming arrows near the brazier with fire. Press [C] to switch between quivers. In order to burn the towers above the gates, you will need to cooperate with teammates and fire 3 or more flaming arrows at once. By the way, a crate with spikes can be found in one of the carts inside the casle.

Unfortunately, the new main menu is still not ready. The problem with the cavalry in the siege mode will be addressed in the next few days. The clan banners will be assigned tomorrow in the morning.

It was removed soon after being added. Nobody played it for a very long time, so I would consider it as a new map. Also, adding the dungeon was the hardest part.

Gorlock and I took a tour of most of the new maps and changes to older maps.

 

Derchios Castle is compact but with a lot of archer spots (plus those movable wooden palisade cover things) should make that castle a really fun one to play in. I predict a lot of close quarter combat. Archers are most likely going to be the most important asset to any team in that map I think. The fire arrows look nice, it will be interesting to see the towers go aflame. One question though, can you get the Pyromaniac achievement if you kill people in that tower with fire? Also, does it count as a kill if enemies die inside that flaming tower? Because then it might be a bit confusing as to light the towers you need 3 people firing at once :blink:

 

Sandstorm is interesting, I wonder how battles will play out in it. The slightly dusty look and the great sound effects give it a rather unique atmosphere.

 

The stairs at the back of Grunwalder will do exactly what I intended my ladders to do and the extra pair of ladders will be useful for some players. The flag being relocated is rather interesting but it makes sense to me. This will get more people utilising the walls. Though previously spawn points would plant you right where the flag is currently, so I imagine that has been changed. The extra 10 seconds don't affect me too much as a cowardly archer but other defenders who rush into combat might start disliking waiting most of the match just to respawn. Perhaps they will be inspired to hold the line and work with their teammates now though.

 

Dugan Gorge will be a different scenario now I think. More archer cover plus a new albeit difficult to ascend stone stairway will make the battle map more interesting to play.

 

I didn't get to try Forest Arena but I'll try to play it tomorrow

 

Great map changes, siege will be even more fun now certainly.

I was tired today when I added that small ladder on Grunwalder Castle. So, maybe I just lost freshness of vision. If it looks strange, I will remove it.

Holy shit that camel and donkey, Cydonia will go mental on the donkey I think. Good update ;)

One problem is I can't buy the camel and donkey, the picture will just shake up and down and thats it :o
