What do you think about it? If you think that horses should be allowed on certain maps (or removed from certain maps), please list them.

Is it not possible to let only attackers have cavarly? If you added that in the poll I would vote for that.

 

E: Isn't the first and second choice the same..

No, players should have the right to play as any class they wish. Naturally certain maps are not compatible with cavalry such as Grunwalder and Jameyyed and so cavalry are already disabled on those maps and there are some other maps that I feel should have no cavalry presence but removing a class from the entirety of the siege mode seems like an extreme option that I disagree with. 

 

Maps like Rudkhan are perfectly fine for cavalry in my opinion. 

 

I would agree with what Altoleek says, that only attackers should have access to cavalry on most maps.

Well I certainly support removing it entirely but I'm willing to let it be as it is if cavalry is balanced.

Cavalry is OP and unbalanced no matter which side it's used by. However only attackers using cavalry would be an improvement over both sides having it. Though it would make a map or two quite unbalanced. The only +++ I can think of is it actually gives the gate some use and a reason to defend it.

It wouldn't solve the problem of the too distant flags for the most of the attackers who don't have a horse. Also, if the attackers can use horses on maps like Rudkhan Castle, why defenders shouldn't be able to use them too? Even now it's very easy to capture that castle.

A while ago I would have voted no, but I have come to the conclusion that cavalry add nothing positive to the siege mode while creating several negatives. Negatives include -

 

- Constantly opening doors so they can go outside and farm kills. Results in several defender losses every happy hour, warning players and repeating it is not allowed has had zero effect.

 

- Constant spawnkilling and or afk killing.

 

- Little to no interest in playing the objective.

 

- Ramming horses in to corridors and generally blocking areas with their stupidity and inability to control the horse properly.

 

- Siege mode for a lot of cav players has become basically a KD farming hour.

 

- Running around outside as an attacker and repeatedly telling the other attackers to go in and open the gate while they do nothing.

 

- Tons of abandoned horses running around knocking and bumping people.

 

Positives include -

 

- Fast to get to flag if the gates are open as an attacker (positive counts for defender only).

What if the cavalry class was nerfed instead? Would everyone who votes yes have a different opinion then?

If the cavalry would be nerfed the 70% (obviously exaggerated) players using them probably drops to what, 10-30% (again)

It's the base elements of the class that are annoying, not the power of it. Nerf them and they will still open doors and generally be annoying.

This is true, the only solution to that which I see is changing all breakable doors into gates instead or placing spikes or something as part of the map design so cavalry do not have access to the doors. Undesirable solutions though I imagine.

God, imagine how retarded it would have to feel like getting banned for opening the doors.

 

That sounds so silly it might even work. Though you never know, I came to the conclusion that you can't assume people to be capable of any sort of thinking, logical or not.

 

 

I understand why removing it might not be a good solution but it definitely needs heavy heavy heavy adjustments at the least.

Oh yeah making cavarly not able to spawn on walls made the situations a lot worse. I remember them always opening the gates and kept letting enemies in.

So if cav gets removed, assasins should be able to steal more of my gold? Hell.Fucking.no. We don't need more useless players only intressted in getting gold running around. 

 

And about cav, with some adjusments I'd say they could stay. But as of now, no.
