Awlpikes can be pretty hard to block when in the right hands. Remember Olaffson (or Olafsson, cant remember)? He was a master of awlpike.

What do you think are the most effective builds to play?

I think people are making a misconception between light and heavy cavalry here. Heavy cavalry is people on small and fast horses who try to backstab you. Heavy cavalry is people on big, slow, tanky horses doing the same.
I mean, only the noblest of persons ride an armoured steed into battle, preferrably without a heavy lance. Only a petty and lowly mercenary would do otherwise. *sips tea*

I think you mean light cavalry is people on small and fast horses blabla, not heavy.

I prefer the slow horses, they are easier to shoot when they are charging at me.

How on earth are light infantry winning the poll? They are easy kills for cav. I rejoice when I see light infantry. Everyone says how OP cav is, and yet archers and light infantry are ahead in the poll. I guess we need to nerf light infantry and archers more than cav.

I'm surprised at the results of the poll too, the amount of moaning people do about cav I expected the most votes for each of those. Also thought there would be lots more votes for heavy infantry.

Could be the wording of the poll. 'Most effective' is a bit vague, and I didn't atleast personally think it as 'which class is most op'.
Remus, thing is that Pepper is fast and accurate, but deals less damage. I'm slow and accurate, but deal more damage. We are still both accurate, so we would both succeed pretty much just aswell with each other's builds.

Ah good, I specifically worded it away from 'most OP'.

What do we consider 'effective'?

What do we consider 'effective'?
Well most kills, since the poll is asking which is the most effective build to play, not which is the most effective build for multiple people to play at once

Hmm I would say an OP build is something a total dullard can play and still get top of the scoreboard. An effective build might be something that requires some amount of concentration/mastery and able to contribute to both the team and still hold its ground on its own.
I'm not 100% sure how I would define effective now I think about it, Sandorra stop screwing up my poll!

Hence I refrained from voting anything so far. But if we go by Dawlish's definition, it would still really depend largely of player itself, and their build. But overall, I'd say heavy and light infantry and crossbow fare decently unless the player is a total numpty. Rest require more skill already, and/or rarely if ever properly contribute to team.
